Turkey’s export products has reached around 250 in the basis of raw material, according to the 2016 Export Data besides our traditional export products as dried figs and raisins, in particular. The product types become varied with the processed goods that are derived from these raw materials. Almost all the produced organic certified products are exported to developed countries such as EU countries, the USA and Japan. Turkey is still the market leader in particular some types of dried fruits and nuts, and cotton. Especially, organic certified production towards to foreign market is contractual. In accordance with demand, a group of producer make come together in order to changeover to organic production.
In recent years, with the help of support policies and efforts of civil society organizations, the demand is increasing on ecological products in terms of export. In 2006 organic agricultural production was around 458.000 tons, while in 2016 this figure increased by 2 million 473 thousand tons and producers are reached to 70 thousand. While the sector is growth by 5 times in 10 years, Turkey has become one of the first 10 countries in terms of number of producers.
